Police are asking for help identifying a man they say slashed a teenage girl in the face in Williamsbridge.
According to the NYPD, the suspect approached a 16-year-old girl on White Plains Road Friday at around 4 p.m. and slashed her face in an unprovoked attack.
Exclusive surveillance video shared with News 12 show nearby residents surrounding what appears to be the victim following the attack. Police say the man was last seen fleeing the scene heading southbound on White Plains Road before going west on East 216th Street.
“That’s crazy. I don't know what to say because it happens every day, so what else is new? said Richshonna Hicks, a Williamsbridge resident. "She's just a 16-year-old girl."
She was taken to Jacobi Hospital where she's said to be in stable condition.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call police.
