A man convicted of killing a police officer in the 1980s is back in jail, accused of attacking and nearly blinding his girlfriend in Brooklyn.

A man convicted of killing a police officer in the 1980s is back in jail, accused of attacking and nearly blinding his girlfriend in Brooklyn.
The NYPD says 64-year-old Steven Chirse was arrested in the assault on East New York Avenue Monday.
Chirse was previously convicted of killing off-duty police officer Angelo Brown back in 1984.
He served 36 years and was released from prison two years ago.
