Man wounded in shooting inside Melrose apartment building

According to the NYPD, an argument between the victim and another person turned violent. It happened just before noon at 508 East 163rd St.

A 47-year-old man was injured during a shooting inside a Melrose apartment building on Saturday, police say.

According to the NYPD, an argument between the victim and another person turned violent. It happened just before noon at 508 East 163rd St.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the back.

Paramedics rushed him to Lincoln Hospital where police say he is expected to recover.

Investigators say the shooter, whose description was not immediately available, ran from the building after the incident.

News 12 cameras captured multiple NYPD cruisers parked outside the building as officers gathered evidence.

No arrests have been made as of Sunday evening.
