An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in the Norwalk River Wednesday morning, according to Norwalk police. They said the 911 call came in around 9:15 a.m. Detectives and officers with the Marine Unit responded and recovered the body near the boating docks behind 50 Water St.
Police have not said how long they believe the man was in the water. It’s also unknown if there were outward signs of trauma or any other suspicious circumstances. Police said they are not releasing the person’s name until next of kin is notified.
Police were on scene until about 12:30 p.m. They said there is no threat to the community.
