A big turnout is expected in Bridgeport Sunday for a march in memory of Lauren Smith-Fields.

Darnell Crosland, the attorney for the family of the 23-year-old Bridgeport resident, says this event will focus important attention on the case.

News 12 Connecticut previouisly reported that she had died and her family was outraged by what they describe as "an inadequate response by the Bridgeport Police Department.

Crosland says Smith-Fields died after a date with an older man whom she met on the dating app Bumble.

City Councilwoman Michelle Small, who represents Smith-Fields' district, says Sunday is important to show support for her mother and other family members.

The march will begin at Bridgeport Police Headquarters at 300 Congress St. at 1:30 p.m. It will end at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center at 999 Broad St.
