Residents at Marcy Place are wondering why officials didn't respond sooner to requests to recover a dead body found in their apartment building.
Building superintendent Jose Ortiz says he immediately called the police after investigating a foul smell reported by a resident on Friday and finding the body of a 73-year-old man who had been a tenant for four years.
Nobody showed up to remove the man's body until Monday morning, though. Ortiz says he is concerned about the officials leaving the decomposing remains over the weekend.
However, DCPI says they responded to a 911 call on Sunday, the only one they received on the matter.
