NASA'S Mars rover Perseverance is celebrating its first year on the red planet.
Since first touching down on Feb. 18, 2021, the rover has collected the first rock core samples from another planet, served as an indespensable base station for the first Mars helicopter and tested the first prototype oxygen generator on the planet.
Earlier this week, Perseverance learned to run and proved it can cover more than 1,000 feet in a day.
The rover continues to look for signs of life.
