Dozens of superheroes teamed up in Times Square to encourage New Yorkers to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated.
The initiative, part of SOMOS Community Care, is in an effort to get more shots in the arms of eligible New Yorkers--especially young people.
More than 20,000 copies of the first collector’s edition of SOMOS’ new Avengers comics book will be given out at SOMOS sites across the city to encourage young people and their families to get vaccinated.

This is all part of a new superhero partnership between SOMOS, the city, the state and Marvel comics in the fight against the coronavirus.
The city’s Department of Health says more than 4 million new people have been vaccinated, but they say COVID-19 is still acutely impacting Black, Latino and Asian communities.
