Health care facilities in New York will no longer require customers and employees to wear masks starting Sunday.
Hospitals, nursing homes, hospice agencies and treatment centers are included in this latest update to the state's COVID-19 precautions.
State health officials are now recommending health care facilities implement their own masking plans based on CDC guidelines and transmission levels given data showing COVID-19 cases on a consistent decline.
Facilities outside of the state's control, including private medical and dental facilities, are also encouraged to follow the updated policy.
