U.S. News and World Report released its list of the best places to live in New York in 2025-2026.

Massapequa Park topped the list.

“It’s great, I’m here 52 years, came from the city in Maspeth, moved here. People are great, town is great, food is great. What can I say, I love it," said Rose Polis, of Massapequa Park.

U.S. News and World Report determined its ranking based on criteria, including affordability, happiness, desirability, retiree taxes, job market and health care quality.

“Our residents love the community. There’s so much to be had in the downtown, how close it is to the railroad, how great the school district is," said Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino.

Massapequa Park ranked first in New York and 140th in the country.

No. 3 is Hicksville.

Lindenhurst ranked 10th.
