As the war on rats continues, city agencies are set to gather on Wednesday to discuss their efforts to combat the critters taking over the five boroughs.
These efforts include extermination and garbage containerization.
The inaugural National Urban Rat Summit will be hosted by Mayor Eric Adams.
The city says local leaders will also discuss how they identify rat hot spots and how they remove conditions that allow rats to thrive.
Speakers from across the country are expected to be in attendance.
One of those hot spots is Norwood. That neighborhood has received more than 300 complaints in 2024 alone, the highest in the Bronx.
News 12 asked Norwood residents if the city is doing enough, and the answers were unanimous.
"I think they're doing a horrible job," said Norwood resident Jose.
Another resident agrees.
"Not at all," said Wade, "I don't even see exterminators in my building most of the time."
