10h agoBronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. joined Mayor Bill de Blasio Thursday as part of City Hall in Your Borough. Together, they announced the lineups of the Homecoming concerts taking place in all five boroughs in August.
The concerts are all part of the mayor's plan to get more New Yorkers vaccinated and to promote tourism throughout the city.
"Hip-hop is our very own natural resource, and while I respect hip-hop and I'm a student of it and I respect all of the lineups in the other boroughs, this is the birthplace of hip-hop," said Diaz.
One of the five concerts is taking place in the Bronx at Orchard Beach on Aug.16. Free tickets will be available this Monday.
Performers for the event include Slick Rick, Remy Ma and over a dozen more. For more information, head to the official Homecoming Week website.
