Mayor Bill de Blasio was at Elmhurst Hospital Wednesday to watch as the first COVID-19 vaccine was administered at a New York City public hospital.
Mayor de Blasio praised workers at Elmurst Hospital for all their efforts in battling the coronavirus. De Blasio says the goal is to vaccinate everyone at the hospital in the next three weeks.
The mayor also spoke during his daily briefing about the importance of getting tested as the numbers continue to rise. The 7-day positivity average was at 5.21%. Mayor de Blasio says the numbers are higher than what officials would like.
Mayor de Blasio says he expects deliveries of the vaccine to continue despite the upcoming storm.
