'Me and my family want Gabby to be found safe': Sister of missing woman’s boyfriend talks to media
The sister of Brian Laundrie, the boyfriend of missing Blue Point native Gabby Petito, spoke for the first time to the media.
"Me and my family want Gabby to be found safe. She's like a sister, and my children love her," Cassie Laundrie said to ABC's Good Morning America.
Cassie Laundrie says she has not spoken to her brother since he returned to his home in Florida, from the cross-country trip where Petito disappeared. She says she has cooperated with police, and gave them all the information that she has.
Brian Laundrie is now a person of interest in the disappearance of Petito.
"It looked typical of both of them. Whenever they would fight, they would take a little break and come back and be fine," says Cassie Laundrie of body camera footage from Utah police responding to a report of a domestic disturbance involving the couple.
Responding officers said Petito, “didn't want to be separated from the male, and began slapping him. He grabbed her face and pushed her back as she pressed upon him and the van, he tried to lock her out ..." The police report also says "both agree that Gabby suffers from serious anxiety, etc. It appeared that this incident was more accurately categorized as a mental/emotional health "break" than a domestic assault."
Petito, 22, went missing sometime in mid-August in Wyoming while traveling with Laundrie.
