Medgar Evers College announces expansion of his cannabis education program

According to officials, the school just received approval to run an associates and bachelors’ program in cannabis studies.

Medgar Evers College held their second annual Cannabis Education Showcase on Saturday. 
The showcase featured music, vendors and expert panelists to interact with attendees. Organizers say the goal of the event was to educate and destigmatize a plant that they believe has the power to change lives.
The college is known for pioneering cannabis education. They launched their minor program in the fall of 2021, which was the first of its kind in New York City.
During the showcase, the college also announced that the program is expanding. According to officials, the school just received approval to run an associates and bachelors’ program in cannabis studies.
The college currently has 13 classes where students learn concepts such as growing, formulation and testing.
