Tenants of one housing complex in Melrose are looking to hold the city accountable after experiencing heat and hot water troubles.
Tenants at 304 East-156th Street say they have been experiencing those troubles since October.
Melrose Houses Tenant Association President Cassandra M. Bowlin says they spoke with New York City Housing Authority's deputy director of heat without any changes.
Tenant Gladys Pena says she uses space heaters and often goes to a nearby senior center to warm up.
“No one should be cold at NYCHA, so they need to step up and do something to help people like her,” Bowlin says.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA for a response to this story and they said they are looking into the matter.
