The MTA has begun construction on new Metro-North stations and tracks, but the project is already causing disruptions for drivers in the area.

Curbside parking has been removed on both sides of Eastchester Road near Bassett Avenue, and the road has been reduced to a single lane in each direction. The construction has resulted in traffic backups, with cars queuing up to navigate the narrowed road.

According to the MTA, the changes are necessary to allow crews to safely work on the Eastchester Road bridge and the tracks above.

Motorists can expect the single-lane traffic pattern to remain in place for approximately four months.
