The MTA Metro-North Railroad announced its summer promotions campaign yesterday as New York City continues its path toward reopening.
The transit agency wants travelers to take advantage of Summer Saturdays, where monthly Metro-North tickets will be honored across any route or station while also giving a special deal to bring up to four guests along for the ride.
Families can also take part in the passport program, where children can collect stamps on every train ride, and once six punches are received, the passport can be traded in for a special prize.
"As part of our 'take the train' and 'New York is Open' campaigns, we're also promoting offers to regional attractions and activities including hiking and biking trips, visits to small towns, gardens, aquariums, museums, the immersive Van Gough exhibit and more across NYC, the Hudson Valley, and Connecticut," said Metro-North President Catherine Rinaldi.
Travelers that are not yet vaccinated can get their shot on their way to any city destination, with MTA vaccination programs available at Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station that have been extended indefinitely and are available to anyone, according to a press release.
Customers can head to the Bronx and save 15% on Garden Pass tickets at the New York Botanical Garden using the discount code "MTA2021." Other discounts for attractions around the city are available and can be found on the MTA's website.
