The News 12 Storm Watch Team says to expect a dry and cool New Year's Eve on Long Island.

TONIGHT: Clear and crisp with temperatures in the mid 30s.

NEW YEARS EVE: Dry and cooler with sun to start, then a mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the mid 40s.

AT MIDNIGHT: Mainly cloudy skies are expected with temperatures in the mid 30s for the midnight countdown. Feels like near 30F.

NEW YEARS DAY: Seasonably chilly with just peeks of sunshine. Highs in the low to mid 40s.

NEXT WEEK: Variable clouds and sunshine. Next chance for rain is Thursday, but amounts are looking very low at this time. Another storm tries to approach for Sunday, but again too far out to tell if it will come close enough to impact our weather in any meaningful way.
