A Longwood mother was arraigned Friday after her two toddlers were found wandering on a neighborhood sidewalk by themselves.
Neighbors say that 41-year-old Lashanda Devaugh moved to 1034 Longfellow Ave. with her two young children just last month.
Police charged her with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after her 2-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy left their apartment and began wandering Longfellow Avenue without adult supervision.
Neighbors say the family lives on their building's second floor -- with three doors and a flight of stairs separating the apartment from the street below.
Police arrested the Bronx mother Thursday night. Surveillance video shows a group of neighbors leading the two toddlers to safety at around 12:30 p.m. the same day.
Officials say the children were discharged from the hospital in good health and are in the care of the Administration for Children's Services.
