More monkeypox vaccine clinics held on LI as state emergency declared over cases

Another monkeypox vaccine clinic will be held in Suffolk County today.
The clinic comes just after Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state emergency as monkeypox cases continue to tick upwards in New York.
The executive order extends those who can get the vaccine to paramedics, pharmacists and midwives.
Health experts are hopeful this will make the vaccine more accessible for those who want to protect themselves against the viral disease.
Today's vaccine clinic in Suffolk is being held in Hampton Bays, but appointments are already full.
Both counties say more vaccines should soon be available.
There are currently 19 confirmed cases in Suffolk County, and eight in Nassau.
