Across the state, community-based pop-up vaccination sites are allowing for tens of thousands of New Yorkers to get vaccinated.
Next week, there will be an additional 18 sites ready to open their doors.
Not all of the new pop-ups are medical facilities. They range from houses of worship to local businesses.
This week alone, 8,500 New Yorkers are expected to receive their first shot.
Since January, more than 180 of these sites have given out nearly 70,000 first doses.
These sites will reopen in three weeks to administer the second doses as needed.
Vaccinations are by appointment only.
