Family and friends gathered in Morris Heights Saturday to remember a man who was fatally shot last week.
Police say Tory Barnes, 29, was shot and killed in the area of University Avenue and West 176th Street.
"He never ever tried to hurt nobody," said the Carmen Montgomery, the victim's grandmother. "That's why I can't fathom who would want to shoot him and kill him like that."
Police arrested 17-year-old Davacchie Cole of East Harlem in connection to Barnes' death. He is facing charges including murder, manslaughter, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
The suspect was committing a robbery when he show Barnes, police say.
Barnes had three children. Family members say he worked in construction and did anything to provide for his family.
