Mother receives long-awaited tablet to help son during remote learning

Last week, News 12 spoke to one Bronx parent who said her son with special needs still had not received a tablet for remote learning. Now, she’s finally received an iPad from the Department of Education.
Rose Lorenzo and her 12-year-old son say they are very grateful. Keandre, her son, has been unsuccessfully using Lorenzo’s cracked cellphone to log in for school.
"Just to see his face and his excitement, words cannot describe… This year was hard for a lot of people but you know what we also have to come together and let our children know that they are our future, that they stand a chance,” said Lorenzo.
