Motorcycle clubs hold fundraiser for Selden man with cancer

Dozens of motorcycle clubs pulled up to a fundraiser in Yaphank Sunday to help a Selden man with cancer.
Last summer doctors found a cancerous tumor in the back of Mario Biganini Jr.’s neck.
At the age of 31, he was diagnosed with spinal sarcoma and life's been very tough for him and his family.

"I'm out of work. I have barely any function in my left arm. I can't raise it and I paint cars for a living," says Biganini Jr.

A fundraiser is being held at the Red River Inn in Yaphank to help Biganini pay his medical bills and give money towards cancer research.

Motorcycle clubs from across the tri-state area found out about the fundraiser through Facebook and Instagram. Hundreds of bikers have already showed their support.

"I know him many years from the auto body business. He's a great kid. It's a shame it has to happen, but we're all here to support him today,” said Larry Montanez, Franklin Square.

Sponsored by the motorcycle club Son's of Italia of Suffolk County, the event raised money through raffles and a silent auction.

Biganini's mother Catherine says she is grateful for the outpouring of love from the community.
