A growing memorial sits outside the Mott Haven Houses to honor 36-year-old Ray Hodges, who was fatally stabbed in a Harlem bodega Thursday afternoon.
Police say officers responded to 168 Lenox Ave. around 2:30 p.m. to find Ray Hodges, a United States postal worker, stabbed multiple times.
EMS responded and transported Hodges to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.
Jaia Cruz, 24, is now in police custody. Cruz was charged with murder in the second degree and is set to be back in court on Jan. 8.
Hodges' loved ones told News 12 that he was a devoted father and friend as well as a devoted worker.
The Manhattan District Attorney's office says Hodges was wearing his USPS uniform when he was killed.
Sources confirm Hodges and Cruz got into an argument inside the Harlem bodega over who was first in line.
