A Mott Haven hotel that promotes relaxation and enjoyment was dealing with upset customers on the inside after the water was shut off on Sunday.
"All the people are very uncomfortable because we don't have any water," said Jay Patel, a receptionist at Hotel 365.
Patel noticed the issue at around 11a.m. and told News 12 he did not received any explanation of why the water service was shut off.
Around the same time the water stopped running in the hotel, Patel noticed a truck that was stuck in a sinkhole down the street between East 144th Street and Grand Concourse.
Patel said when he approached workers around the buried truck, they were no help.
"They are saying, 'we're going to solve it by tonight or tomorrow.' They are not confirming exactly," Patel told News 12.
Con Edison told News 12 there were no reported gas or electrical damages.
While Patel searched for answers, he said customers were only asking for one thing.
"They are demanding the refund too, but we have no idea how we can get, going to do that one," Patel said.
News 12 has reached out to the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Transportation, but was still waiting for responses from both as of Sunday night.
