The mother of a Bronx woman found shot to death in upstate New York says her daughter had no known enemies -- but she did have mental health issues.
Katherine Gamble says she's unaware of any connections her daughter, 33-year-old Robyn Roper, would have had in Elmira -- or anywhere else upstate. She says Roper had been in and out of psychiatric institutions for years.
Police found Roper's body riddled with bullet wounds in the middle of the street Wednesday on Jerusalem Hill Road in Elmira. They were responding to a report of a car accident.
Gamble says her daughter leaves behind three children to whom she did not have custody of due to her mental health.
Police have not made any arrests.
