MTA bus collides with concrete divider in Morris Heights

A bus full of commuters collided with a concrete barrier meant to protect a bike and pedestrian lane on Tuesday.
According to the FDNY, the MTA bus crashed into the barrier at University Avenue and Washington Bridge around 11:30 a.m.
The bus hung in the air, on top of the barrier for an hour while city agencies worked to clear the scene and tow the vehicle.
One rider said he was sleeping on the bus when it crashed.
"I'm on the bus and I just feel a little rumble...I woke up and all you hear is ladies screaming," said Luis.
The crash created major traffic delays. One rider said he was stuck behind the chaos.
"I was on the bus behind. So, I'm just like, 'Are we going? What's going on? We can't go this way?'"
Riders of the disabled MTA bus told News 12 they were forced to walk or find alternative routes to their destinations.
FDNY officials said four people suffered minor injuries.
