Flames and smoke billowed from the rooftop of 416 E 137th St Monday night.

FDNY says they responded to the fire at the Mott Haven building at around 10:58 pm on Monday.

79 crew members battled the blaze on the building's rooftop, containing the fire in less than an hour.

Charred exteriors were noticeable Tuesday morning, but it’s unclear if the building suffered any structural damages.

The frightening incident comes a month after a fire ripped through a Mott Haven deli on May 6. The deadly incident took the lives of three neighbors.

Fire marshals arrested 45-year-old Daniel Santana, of Castle Hill. Santana was charged with three counts of murder and arson.

News 12 has reached out to the American Red Cross and the New York City Department of Buildings about Monday's fire.
