A major housing development is coming to Highbridge, designed to provide affordable and supportive housing for hundreds of families.

Samaritan Daytop Village is leading the project, called “The Highbridge,” which will feature more than 300 affordable apartments, over 100 family shelter units and community spaces. The organization says the development will support Bronx residents by offering resources for housing, mental health and addiction services.

Construction began in July, and the project is expected to be complete by 2027.
