A brand-new apartment building called the Maven opened in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx Thursday, offering luxury apartments and amenities to the community.

The artwork that lines the lobby walls pays homage to the culture of the Bronx. The paintings incorporate street art and graffiti, similar to what people would see painted on the walls of an underpass.
The artworks were created by nine renowned artists from across the world, including a few who call the Bronx home.
“Bringing the art and the vibrancy of this neighborhood into the building transforms the whole experience that you get, and the community that you’re going to feel in this building.” said Todd Rechler, the chief construction and development officer of RXR.
Sixty apartments are affordable and designated for low-income earners. Rechler said the goal is to make all residents feel at home and inspired.
