A new piece of New Jersey legislation would provide protection and security for same-sex marriages.
Same-sex marriage has been legal for about eight years. The new bill would cement that legalization into New Jersey law, making it impossible for courts to reverse the ruling.
"No one should live in fear of discrimination," said Rep. Josh Gottheimer on Twitter. "This week, as a proud member of the LGBTQ Equality Caucus, I helped introduce the Equality Act — to guarantee permanent protections for LGBTQ people under our nation's existing civil rights laws."
