A new library in Fordham celebrated its first weekend with music, theater and other activities for families Saturday.

Bronx residents say the library is a great source of entertainment and students added that it is the best place to get homework done on the weekends. One mother said trips to the library could become a new family tradition.

A library representative said that more than 2,000 library cards were issued at the grand opening last Monday. She said she is confident Bronx residents will continue to come back.
