A camp geared toward giving young girls confidence kicked off its first day at St. Luke's School in New Canaan today.

333ds agoA camp geared toward giving young girls confidence kicked off its first day at St. Luke's School in New Canaan today.
The New Canaan-based nonprofit LiveGirl has been empowering young girls since 2014.
The students participating in the camp can take advantage of the school's design lab and learn STEM skills as well as confidence-building activities, conferences and other speaking engagements.
The camp features both indoor and outdoor activities and guest speakers.
Today's first guest speaker was professional ballerina and New Canaan native Alexandra Terry.
"So sweet and asked wonderful questions about being one of the only girls of color growing up in New Canaan and my experience as a professional ballerina. I've had so many people help me and mentor me and share words of wisdom along the way. I wanted to be able to pass it down," Terry says.
The camp is open to fourth through eighth grade girls across the state.
There's even free transportation from Bridgeport and Stamford to Saint Luke's to make sure any girl who wants to attend can.
