Good evening and thanks for joining us here on News 12 The Bronx, where local matters. I'm Marissa Santorei. Police continue to investigate a deadly shooting in Soundview. A 33 year old man is dead, and right now the shooter is still on the loose. Let's turn things over to News Twelve's Tim Hartman. He's outside the 43rd precinct with the latest information and the chilling moments the shooting happened on surveillance video, Tim. Well, Marissa, right now there are more questions than answers. Police have not yet publicly released the victim's name, but we're told the 33-year-old man was fatally shot in the head around 10:30 last night on Westchester Avenue. Now take a look at this surveillance video obtained by News 12 and first keep your eyes on the top. corner of your screen. The video shows the victim wearing what appears to be a white tank top and jean shorts standing in front of a gift shop near the Morrison Avenue Soundview train station. Then you can see the highlighted individual in the hoodie run up on the victim, pull out a gun and shoot him. Now we're freezing. Before the gunshots, bystanders ran over to the victim as the gunman ran off. Police say officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. People in the area say the 30 three-year-old may have been working at the shop at the time, and this may have been a targeted attack. Residents like Neil say they're tired of the violence. Just a shame, man. That's all, it's a shame. You can't even walk down the street. Because you never know, a person just might just target you, you know what I'm saying? You don't know if you're gonna make it home or not, you know, that's how bad it is out here. Now those candles you just saw part of a growing memorial outside of the shop right now we do not know what led to the shooting, but police say they're looking for a man last seen wearing a dark hoodie, dark sweatpants, black and red sneakers, and a black face mask.
