The new chief executive at Jacobi Medical Center sat down with News 12 The Bronx Monday to explain his plans for the hospital.
"I feel an obligation to make sure out patients feel safe when they're in this environment," says Bill Foley, who identified the hospital's finances as a key issue. "We are looking at everything that we're doing. What are the services that are most needed by our patients?"
Foley began the job two months ago. He's responsible for the day-to-day operations at the hospital.
Part of his approach has been to get feedback from staff members.
"I think, if you expect to have satisfied patients, you need to have a satisfied work force, staff and physicians," he says.
Foley was previously CEO of the Cook County Health Department in Illinois.
