A new children's library officially opened Friday morning at the Urban Health Plan: Tres Puentes Community Health Center in Mott Haven.

Children from Brilla College Prep Elementary School were invited for a special reading time with doctors and staff to celebrate the library's launch.

The new library was established by a donation from United Ways Books from Birth Program and is supported by United Health Plan's Reach Out and Read Program. The goal of the library is to bring more access to literature in the community and to help kids reach their academic goals.

Kids who come for a doctor's appointment at Tres Puentes can read books while they wait and they can even take a book home when they leave. Books will be replaced by United Way and United Health Plan throughout the year.
