A new mental health counseling center has opened in the Bronx.
The Grand ConCourse Counseling Center is a hub for mental health services in the Bronx, according to officials.
The new center, located at 2488 Grand Concourse, combines the Jewish Board's Bronx Counseling and Early Childhood Treatment centers with the South Bronx Counseling Center.
Director of Grand ConCourse Counseling Center Darlene Carrera says the center has 35 doctors, nurses, clinicians and therapists on staff.
The center also provides early childhood treatments for infants and toddlers, Carrera says.
"Starting early and providing preventative services and working with the families and the parents is really important to us," she says.
The center has been open for a month and has already helped about 800 residents, Carrera says.
