Three new rapid testing sites are opening this week in New York City.
The openings are part of the city's latest efforts to get more people tested.
In Brooklyn, residents can get tested in Bay Ridge at 8511 and 8515 Fifth Ave. In the Bronx, testing will be available at the Co-op City Retail Space, and on Staten Island at the Greenbelt Recreation Center.
Rapid or point of care tests provide results within 15 minutes. They can either be molecular, also known as PCR or antigen tests.
The test uses a nasal swab and according to NYC Health + Hospitals, is highly accurate. Rapid testing is free for the patient and the results are provided on site.
