Prosecutors are now going after a new person for allegedly pointing a laser beam at aircraft at LaGuardia Airport.
Elehecer Balaguer has been charged with pointing a laser at airplanes in motion after confessing to the crime, which injured pilots, in open court last week.
Frank Egan was the man originally charged in connection with the laser pointing, but he was cleared after Ballaguer's admission.
Balaguer, who is the boyfriend of Egan's sister, faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
