Mayor Eric Adams’ administration plans to establish the world’s first heliport with infrastructure for electric helicopters in lower Manhattan.
By using electric batteries, Adams says the city will cut down on noise pollution in the area and create a new hub for sustainable transportation.
He also stated that the city’s investment in the technology will allow residents to have cleaner skies and contribute to the goal of reducing U.S. greenhouse gas emission levels by 2030.
