New York declares Nov. 26 as Sojourner Truth Day

The state Senate and Assembly just passed a bill to honor Sojourner Truth, who was born in Ulster County and escaped slavery in 1826 with her infant daughter.

Nov. 26 will now be recognized as Sojourner Truth Day in New York.
The state Senate and Assembly just passed a bill to honor Sojourner Truth, who was born in Ulster County and escaped slavery in 1826 with her infant daughter.
