Temperatures climbed into the low-90s across the city Monday, prompting many New Yorkers to head outside and enjoy the weather.
Many residents took their dogs to Crotona Park, where a group of kids was also playing with water guns.
Others played basketball and said the breeze helped them deal with the heat.
"This water fountain literally saved my life," one parkgoer said. "I didn't think I was gonna make it."
Tuesday is expected to be similarly hot with a chance of rain or thunderstorms, according to forecasts.
