New Yorkers can now apply for Workforce Pell Grants aimed at helping students train for high-demand careers.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the opening of the application portal for the Workforce Pell Grant program.
The program is designed to help students pay for short-term training programs in fields including health care and advanced manufacturing.
Eligible programs must meet state standards, including strong completion rates and job placement outcomes.
State officials said the goal is to help more New Yorkers gain workforce skills and move into good-paying jobs more quickly.
