New York Road Runners pay tribute to the late Al Gordon in Prospect Park race

The cold weather did not stop thousands of participants from attending the race dedicated to late former NYRR board member Al Gordon, who was famed for walking everywhere.

The New York Road Runners kicked off their 2023 season of Brooklyn races with a four-mile run around Prospect Park.  
The cold weather did not stop thousands of participants from attending the race dedicated to late former NYRR board member Al Gordon, who was famed for walking everywhere. According to legend, Gordon even walked from his home in Manhattan to John F. Kennedy International Airport.  
News 12’s Greg Thompson was at the event and spoke with runners about Gordon.
