For another year, the state budget will not be done on time.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says it's partly because of the holiday weekend ahead.
Hochul says she's sending a bill to the legislature that will extend the deadline from April 1 to April 4.
"Working together, I am confident we can deliver a budget that increases the housing supply, invests in schools, healthcare, and makes New York safer for all," Hochul said.
The governor's proposed budget has been under fire when it comes to education funding. Over 100 Hudson Valley districts stand to lose state foundation aid. Gov. Hochul says the proposed cuts are tied to dwindling student enrollment.
The budget, which is due April 1 every year, was more than a month late last year.
