News 12 checked out conditions of public bathrooms in the Bronx after the New York City Council assessed 102 public park bathrooms across the city.
The assessment found that two-thirds of them were either closed or had safety or health issues.
News 12 visited three park bathrooms - only one of which was inspected by the City Council.
News 12 found dirty sinks, missing toilet paper and even used feminine hygiene products on the ground.
The overall consensus from community members News 12 spoke with are public bathrooms are gross.
In a statement, the NYC Parks Department says the City Council's report targeted less than 15% of public restrooms, saying this report is a disservice to their employees who work tirelessly every day to make sure public restrooms are well-maintained.
