The Guardian Angels have started to patrol Park Slope following News 12's in-depth coverage of harassment and groping incidents in the area.
Since the group began patrolling a few weeks ago, Guardian Angels members say they have intervened in one altercation.
Although they haven't observed any harassment incidents, they say they are actively recruiting Park Slope volunteers to join their patrols.
Police have recorded at least three incidents of forcible touching near Prospect Park this month.
While some locals have expressed concern about the Guardian Angels' presence, the group assures that their efforts are aimed at enhancing safety.
"Even if it's the Boy Scouts, any help can't hurt. We're here to help," said Jose Gonzalez, the leader of Guardian Angels Brooklyn.
Police have not made any arrests related to the forcible touching cases.
However, as of Sunday, they have released surveillance footage of a man wanted in connection with an Aug. 9 incident where a woman was groped from behind.
