A happy reunion happened Saturday, thanks in part to a News 12 reporter and photographer out on assignment in Country Club.
Reporter Tim Harfmann and photographer Conor Buckley were reporting on breaking news of a boat that capsized in Eastchester Bay when a toy poodle ran up to the crew, shivering and limping.
The crew worked to deliver breaking news, while also knocking on doors to try and find the dog's owner.
The dog had a collar but no tag, so Buckley and Harfmann visited several veterinarians only to learn the dog was microchipped, but the chip was not registered.
The team dropped the pup off at the NYPD's 49th Precinct. Thanks to social media and word of mouth, the dog was reunited with its owner.
